CELPIP Program

WINNIPEG GLOBAL EDUCATION COLLEGE

Program Description

Winnipeg Global Education College's CELPIP course is designed to efficiently and strategically prepare students for the CELPIP teaching them both the English language and CELPIP test taking skills.

The CELPIP is a four-skill (listening, reading, writing, speaking) English language proficiency test that is completely delivered on the computer. It is available across Canada. Results are generated within approximately one week. The CELPIP is designated by Citizenship and Immigration Canada as proof of English language proficiency for permanent resident status. It can be used under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Start-up Visa Program and various Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).

The CELPIP Preparation course is for students with an intermediate level of English language proficiency. The course can be taught in two streams, the English Stream and the Bilingual Stream.

The course has 40 lessons including 200 hours of instructional time (5 hours per day). The course is divided into five sections, one for each test section, which also correspond to the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), and one assessment section for practice tests.

The language systems of pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and discourse are taught through all of the course sections as appropriate.
